Ben returned to Maine in 2000, accepting a position at Yankee Marina & Boatyard in Yarmouth where he worked with composites, commissioned Grand Banks-Eastbay yachts and directed industrial safety. He served three years as seminary intern at First Baptist Church in Haverhill, Massachusetts, America ’s oldest Baptist congregation north of Boston, and completed his M.Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts in November, 2008. In his spare time Ben enjoys gardening, hiking, cooking and home improvement. His favorite Christian author is C.S. Lewis. Family
The Greenes bring a broad range of gifts to ministry. God called Ben to pastoral ministry from an academic career track. Kelly currently serves as a part-time retail pharmacist and homemaker. Esther is an active 5-year-old who enjoys art, gardening, music and books. Ruth just looks adorable and drools a lot.
Born in Alliance, Ohio, Kelly attended pharmacy school at Ohio Northern University and earned her doctorate from the University of Rhode Island in 2003. She served for five years as the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she collaborated with the Maine Poison Control Center and Maine Children’s Cancer Program. Kelly loves to read, cook, garden, hike, swim and play sports. She really enjoys being a mom and hopes to establish roots as a full-time homemaker. Kelly’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ came alive in college where she was introduced to a vibrant small-group Bible study and her favorite Bible passage is Philippians 4:6-7.
Ben and Kelly met through mutual Christian friends and married in 2002. Esther was born two years later and continues to prove as adorable a challenge as the day she arrived. Ruth, their latest family addition, was born in Houlton in 2009.
